R.I.P.( Poo) Darresse

This was a very difficult past weekend for me. My little brother died in a fire along with 2 other females. There are so many rumors going around about what happened,it's crazy. I don't know what to believe I just can't believe that Poo is gone. I was just with me not to long ago chilling at our aunt Dora's house. The sad part is that my oldest brother lives in Kansas and we can't even get in touch with him. He needs to know but I don't want to have to be the person to tell him our little brother is dead. That's why I didn't make it to school last thursday. It started off a normal day and about 7:30 my phone started ringing off the hook. At first I didn't believe nobody that called me. Until I went to relatives house and his step dad told me he was the person who had to go and identify the body. I couldn't even imagine how painful that was on him. But it had me literally sick to my stomach trying to accept the fact that my little bro is gone and ain't never coming back. I wish I could have took his place and it was me who lost a life because my brother was so young he haven't even gotten the chance to see 21. What was even sadder is that it was a baby in the fire that some nigga escaped with , but the baby didn't make either. The police looking for some dude I never seen before but, alls I know they better find him before my family find him because somebody gotta feel our pain on lil Marty and that's my word.....

# 52 My least favorite way to Travel

I'd have to say my least way to travel would be by the bus. I freaking hate to ride buses, especially going out of town. They take so long to arrive at your destination and they make so many out the way stops. And I love planes and I've always wanted to fly but I'm a chicken shit when it comes down to getting on a plane. You couldn't pay me a million bucks to board a plane. I think it's because of the 9-11 incident, but I'm not getting on no plane. I would probably get on a train depending if there serving alcohol, other than that I'd rather drive my own car because that's how I'm use to traveling. My friend Ray hates to travel by car. But I love to travel by cars. She said it's easier to get in an accident in a car. But my opinion, is that if I get in an accident in a car, at least I'm in control of the wheel and not depending on a pilot to save my life. I would rather put my life in my own hands if something were to go wrong while I was traveling because I trust myself. Ray says traveling by plane is quicker and safer, but I disagree because it's to many safety issues. Ray tried to be funny and said I must be scared of heights. But I 'm not afraid of anything accept getting on a plane and ain't nothing she can say or do to change my mind. If I find out that I'm going to die one day, then I'll get on a plane to overcome my fears, until then, My girl Ray is on her way to the Bahamas on a plane. I couldn't go because you can't drive to an island so I'll see Ray when she get back!!!

#2 Moments tell about me as a Student

What do moments tell about me as a student and stephanie as an instructor and about this course is that it's not that hard I just have to stay caught up with all my work. Now Steph is a great instructor, but I'm a terrible student. I'm missing days that is in the long run going to throw my grade off. I'm trying to learn and understand everything that I'm suppose to be doing in the class, but it's getting hard because I'm falling behind. But Steph always try to make it easy on me and help me when I'm in the dark and that's like almost always. I think I need to be more focused on my work and try to keep track of my grades so I'll know how I'm doing and won't be upset with myself at the last minute when it's too late. This class is not the typical english class it's Steph's 105 So that make it more fun. Like today right after class she came to the studio and helped me get caught up with my work once again, shes the greatest. Well I have to start brainstorming for my revised paper so I think I'm gonna have to get out of here.

# 5 What's been the Greatest Challenge

I face a number of challenges everyday of my life. But my hardest challenge I think is trying to stay on a strait path and stay out of trouble. It seems easy, but it's hard. I have a certain group of friends that I'm very close to that may have a negative influence on me but I love my friends too much to kick them to the curve. Not everybody wants to better themselves but,I do that's why I'm trying to finish school so I can be a somebody. Then the area I hang out in really plays a part in my life that's against my succession. People like me that have done alot of bad things in the past have to watch where I be because enemies don't go away and they can care less that a brother finally trying to change. This is the reason I just try to stay to myself and out of everybody else business. My hardest challenge is yet to come. You guessed it, setting a positive example for my son and showing him how to be a man. I try to be a totally different person when lil Marty is around me because he so smart and pick up on things very quick. This will be my hardest challenge but if I show him all the right things he will have the knowledge to succeed. But I take it day by day because anything could happen. We can be here today and forgotten about tommorow, so like I said I challenge myself because everyday life is a challenge.

#66 Very old on my death bed

If I was very old and on my death bed the advice I'd give my family is to stay close to one another and take care of each other. I'd let them know how important they are to me before I pass. And I would tell my son to take care of his brother. I would laugh and make jokes with the family too, just because they know I have a good sense of humor. I would tell my uncle to throw a pint of Remy Martin in my casket so I could drink it in my after life. My mom probably will already be dead, so I can't wait to see her again. I would have my lawyer read my will to my family before I died to see how my family would act. I would be kinda sad, but If I was very old I'd probably be ready to die. But I don't really know what I'd say to my family I might just tell them all to go to he**!

# 39 A place I never been, But always wanted to go

I been told all people come from Africa when I was little. I don't know If that's true, but everytime you see a commercial about the poverty in Africa, mostly you see black people. I always wanted to go there as a child. In my own lil world, Africa is kinda like the mother land in my mind. I remember back in middle schools we use to study Africa. The scenenery is so beautiful and not to mention the variety of wild life that comes from Africa. Besides, Lions are my favorite animals and that's where they come from. The only thing I don't understand is, how Africa is so nice, but has so many flaws. Half the people is infected with HIV and AIDS. But if there was something I could do to help believe me I would. I have plans on traveling there in my future after my career. Maybe one day I can start a charity to help some of those people out because after all, those are my ancestors. And after I've helped many people as I can there, I'll eventually go back with my family on a vacation. Africa's a nice place it just depends on what part I visit but the day I finally make it over there, It'll be an experience I'll never forget! After all, I am African American so I at least have to pay the people a visit someday!!!

# 37 Physical Trait I would of changed in J.High

Now the main thing If I could of changed in junior high, would be my height. I was a short little dude. I was a basketball player and everything, but I seemed to never grow. All my family and friends made fun of me because my little brother is way taller than me. Back then, that was embarrising, but it wasn't anything I could do about it. Even till this day, I'm still short, even though I'm taller than I use to be back then. I guess some people are meant to be short. I remember when I use to wear Timberland boots all year round justb to seem taller. That use to be funny because itbe summer and people would ask me, Marty why do you have on boots. I'd make up some stupid excuse, but the ones that knew me already knownthe answer. But after being short my entire life I learned to take advantage of it. I make my little bro regret being taller. If I thought something was to high for me to reach, I'd call him knowing I could reach it. I just wanted to work him, yeah pay back for being taller than your big bro! But seriously, in my younger days I thought being short for my age was a big deal, but now I see that it's not that serious because I'm only as big as I feel.

#34 The worst date of my life

This was a while back when I was a youngin. I had a crush on this pretty ladie my mom use to be friends with. She had about 6 kids but I didn't care because she was so nice to me and at the time I didn't have my son. So we dated without anyone knowing for a couple months. I was only only 17 and she was 36. Everything was cool between us until she started getting jealous of me. The main thing I regret is not taking our age difference serious because she was way to old for me, but she said I acted mature for my age so she gave me a chance. Well after time passed I got to see the real person she was. I did everything I possibly can for this lady but afer awhile I think she started to take me for granted. She seemed mored interested in what I could do for her than the things that was more important. Then one night we went out together and she acted a fool. Now when I say that, I mean, she showed me who she really was. She was so drunk she left me at the club and went home with one of her other friends. I felt stupid because my mom warned me of how she was, but I was young so I thought No risk , No reward. But shes the one who regret it because I was good to her, I even helped take care of her kids. I was there for her no matter what, but she played herself if you ask me. I conversate with her every now and then, but not really anymore because I'm grown now and I'm not letting any female take advantage of me. So I can honestly say she was the worst date I ever had in my life, hopefully I never run into another person like her!!!!!!!!

#9 Acknoledge writing is hard

Now I use to be a talented rapper when I was growing up but it wasn't easy. I have 2 first place trophies from Proctor Center Talent Show. The only thing that always got to me was trying to write my music. Grammar and lyrics are difficult when it comes to writing the type of music I wrote. I had to write the type of music that would reflect on what kind of rapper I was. So I started off just scribble scrabble writing, not making any since. So I kept starting over. I wanted my music to have a message in it, I didn't just want to rap about anything. So what made me get the hang of it was when I started writing about my life and all my past history. It was still kinda hard because it was certain words I couldn't say or use in my raps so, I spent lots of time editing my music. The main thing I found hard about writing was trying to stick to one subject. I think my english class is easier than writing music. But as the time went on I learned how to bounce around and still stay focused on my main point. I have all these ideas floating through my mind even now as I'm writng this blog and sometimes I just get caught up and just write, write, write. I learned from people with experience how to do it correct. Simple as the name of a song would be based on what I would write about.Beginning, middle and ending. It's just like what they teach in class. Have your main idea and lots of supporting details and have it organized so people can understand your point. I wish I would have known this back then, but hey I'm not complaining, we learn something new almost everyday!

Freestyle Narrative

This is from Lil Marty's point of view.
Wow! Were in the heck am I and what's all the darn screaming about?
Now I think I'm going to cry, might as well. Why is it so bright and would someone please tell me where am I. It's so cold out here. And why do these people have mask on, they all look weird. Then the doctors pass lil Marty to me.
Who in the hell are you? I'm smiling looking at him. He says dad. I say what's up boy I'm your father! Then he says whose the chick, must be my mom. We take Marty to another room to get him cleaned up. Hey where are you taking me? Mom, Mom, Mom this is unwanted physical contact. So he's just fussing away. So we get him cleaned up and weight him and what not, on the way to the delivery room he goes. Why am I in here, are you guys plan on leaving me? Dad? Dad? Why don't he answer me? O well I'm tired I'm gonna get some shut eye till my old man comes back around. Later that Day.....
I'm crying ladies aren't ya gonna pick me up? So the nurse brings Marty to our room where Britteny is still in pain. Hello Baby! Did you miss me? Ooo, Shes hot. Hey dad, do we all get to sleep in the same bed? Who is all these ugly people pressing their dry lips upon my gorgeous cheeks. Stop get away, If u don't stop I'm going to cry, that's it. Then lil Marty starts crying. So I picked him up and rocked him to sleep after feeding him a bottle and the rest of the family left one by one.

#46 Achieved my hopes & dreams came true

Well I'm not a big dreamer, but I always had hope. But my point is I always hoped for a change for the better. The only problem I never really had anything to change for. So time past and I was in a loving relationship with Britteny. It started off she was 14 and I was 16. We were together for a couple years and we lived together and even went to school together. She wasn't only my soulmate, she was my best friend. But as the time went by, I always hoped that we can have a child. She wasn't really in agreement because we wasn't in no situation to be raising a child. I didn't argue back, we just said if it happens we just needed to be prepared. So I hoped and prayed and it finally happened. We didn't even know she was pregnaunt and we wouldn't have known if she didn't go to planned parent hood for a six month check up. So it was a shock to the both of us because by the time we found out, she was already 8 weeks. I didn't care because I was so happy and it was so much to be done with little time. But we did everything we was suppose to do and eventually she had little Marty. That was like the major turning point in my life, I can't even explain the feeling that came over me. But it seems like when I had my son it helped me grow up. It changed me for the better and me knowing I had a family at home I could no longer run the streets because she needed me there with her. But basically having my child made my hopes and dreams come true because his birth guided my spirit in a totally different direction

#27 Recalling Judgement

I'm going to start with the first day of school. I met a very special person that day but I didn't realize how special she was to me. It may have been because I had a long night without any sleep, but I seen her and didn't have any good thought's. I remember starring at her and putting my head down. But the next day, I greeted her and we introduced eachother to the class together for a introduction. Now I didn't mean to cast judgement, but I'm the type of person that go with my first instinct. It's just I was wrong about this person and the more we hang out and spend time together I see the real her. I don't know it's just so easy to get attached to a lovable person like her, she's my sweetheart. We still bring up the first time we met and talk about our encounter but, she's the boss and I wouldn't want to disappoint her. Were close and we spend alot of time together if she not at work or going to church. That was another surprise to me because she don't look religious. She bossy too, but I like it because it fits with her personality she so kind and sweet hearted it leaves me no choice but to love her because who she really is and not what I thought about her. Well, I never would of guessed it, but with her I learn something new everyday. I'll invest my love, patience and time with her and see what happens. Don't worry she's a great positive person maybe it will rub off on me. I really like her and to think the first day I met her I felt like I hated her for no reason, but wish me luck because were happy and enjoying every moment we spend together!

# 30 Longest time I've gone without sleeping

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 16 and in the rat race.I literally stayed up for 5 days strait. I was determined to what I was doing. I wasn't very smart back then because staying up that long didn't pay off. I was driving my car and I blacked out behind the wheel. It was in the newspapers years ago. I woke up in the hospital months later. I was in a coma but the crazy part is that I didn't remember anything. My mom had told me what happened. I remember bits and pieces of what happened but not anymore. I learned my lesson though, I try to get much rest as possible because our bodies will shut themselves down. Now the longest I would stay up is only 2 days without rest because I'm not trying to commit suicide. But I'm not young and dumb anymore, I know better.

#17 The 1st time I defied my Parents

The first time I defied my parents I was about 13 going on 30. I did my chores like a normal child and by that, I mean sometimes half doing them just to go and hang out with friends. But I did them on regular bases and it's the friday that my mom was suppose to pay me. So she comes home from work and the house is spotless, I do my best on payday. So I let her shower and do her regular before I bugged her about my money. She was so relaxed, to the point she fell asleep. It left me no choice but to wake her and I kindly said, pay up. She must of looked at me like I was crazy and went back to sleep. So me being 13, I snatched her covers off her to make her get up. She had an attitude of course but I didn't care I did to because she haven't paid me yet. That led to a huge argument so I left but not empty handed, I took her car keys. I didn't go back home that night. She thought I had ran away so she called the police and they picked me up from a friends house about 3 am. She whopped the black off me and eventually took her keys back but, I laugh the whole time because she gave me my money. I didn't want to be rude or disrespectful, but I didn't want to let my mom play me. The crazy part is shes the person who taught me to stand up for what I believe in and to always speak my mind. So I honestly think she tried to go on me because in the end she still had to pay me. So sometimes you have to stand up against your parents because their not always right just because their our parents.

#42 If I could script the plot for my dream

If I had a choice of what I could dream about tonight I'd dream about me in 20 years. I would be married with children and already successful. By this time little Marty would have children, so that would make me a grandfather. I would have my C.W.I. in the welding field. I would be living in my dream house that I designed and built. I would have a great reputation of what I did for a living and I would have mad respect because of the type of person I was and how I caried myself. In my dream I would be sitting in front of my 68 inch plasma watching my son play in the Super Bowl. I see myself with a cold Budlight with my favorite uncle, Dee right next to me and he's ten years older than me now so I could imagine him 20 years from now. In my garage would be a Bentley Rolls Royce that I dearly cherish more than my wife and a couple more collectables I picked up throughout the uprise of my career. My wife would be a few years younger than me and would also have a career. She would always step in front of the t.v. so I had it hung on the wall so she could annoy me while I was watching the game. But pretty much I guess you can say I'm living happily ever after. Hopefully one day this dream comes true!

Reflection of Descriptive Paper

First I started off just brainstorming ideas that would be easy and specific to write about. I spun a web in the studio and ran with my ideas, building off memories. It took me about a week to work on my descriptive paper. I must of wrote it six times before I got it right. Some pieces I’ve added and the not so important parts I’ve removed. As I remember more details of my son birth, the more my story will come alive and let my readers feel as if they were actually were in that hospital room with me. I choose this topic because it was personal but a positive effect in which I’m trying to capture the attention of my readers. It was an experience of a life time and not everyone has children, so I thought it would be great to share my experience. So hopefully my readers are going to capture the moment and get caught up in it, just as I did witnessing the birth of my son.
My draft even went well. I learned from Lionel and I learned from myself after I read out loud. So upon completion of my paper, I’ll be adding more sensory details to make it more interesting without changing the subject. Overall it’ll be a powerful description to all who reads it because it demands the attention of all types of readers and learners, besides that it’s interesting and it makes your mind soar.

#69 Reveal Secret Of Friend Being A Liar

First off, I always been good at noticing when someone is lieing.I can tell how they speak and by the body language a person use. The funny part is the people that lie so much actually try to convince themselves as there telling the lie just to make it sound interesting. That makes me laugh so hard. Then the entire time someone is telling a lie they talk to you looking down.So they automatically give themselves up because they don't even make eye-to-eye contact through out the whole conversation. Then if your like me you pay attention to the small stuff. For instance, some people only tell half of the truth, but as soons as they see they got your attention they start making up a story as they go along. That's crazy they are not Steven King so I don't fall for the bull. Then you have the dramatic liars who you would just walk off on because their stories are so farfetched you can't stand to listen to any more of it. I've also meet people that try to lie just to make themselves feel good. I'm not mad at them because if it makes them happy good, but sometimes they have to face the facts. A lie is a lie but someone who lies to themselves and actually believe their own lie, they have social issues. Then you have a liar that lie to people to avoid hurting their feelings. If I had to choose I can honestly say this is the type of liar I'd be. For example, when my girl friend was pregnaunt with my son, she'd get all dressed up and ask me how do she look or was she to big to wear a certain shirt. Now I be smiling in my head thinking she know darn well but I don't want her to cry so I say sweety even though your pregnaunt you make that look good, but when she go into the other room I laugh because I really thought she looked like a stuffed pink elephant, but I'm sure this will be our little secret.

My 1st Brush With Danger

I'd say I was ten or eleven when me and danger encountered each other. It was about 150 pounds of pure muscle with razor sharp teeth. My older brother had just picked me up from school. So were walking up an alley taking a short cut home and out of no where, there it was. A massive pitbull starring us down like lunch meat growling. I was so scared if I was a snake I would have shed my skin. My brother told me to stand still. But I refused because the dog looked as if he was a professional poker player ready to checkmate us. So before he could make his move I launched my book bag into his face and ran like Forest Gump. I knew since he was bigger and faster than me that I had to think quick. So instead of trying to out run him, I out smarted him by leaping onto the back of someones pick up truck that happened to be parked in the alley. It was an adrenaline rush I can never forget. My heart was pounding like it was a concert inside my chest. But when I jumped on the back of that truck I felt invincible. People heard us in the alley and called the pound and that was how we escaped from being chewed on like rag dolls. It was man vs. beast and I won. It was like a game of cat and mouse, but more like muscles vs. brains. me and my brother still talk about that even till this day.

Welding

Last semester I use to couldn't wait wait to come to school. My major is welding and that's my favorite class. I still remember my first day in the lab. I had my safety glasses on, my welding helment and my welding jacket bottoned up. I was so ready, I went in my booth and set my Miller machine by twising the levers to the correct amperages and voltages and I struck my ark. The first few times my rod stuck to the metal plate like brakes locking up on a car. Then a couple more times I finally got the hang of it. I struck another ark and pulled up not even a quater inch from the plate and that's how it all began. Now after practicing the teacher told me personally I was one of the best welders in the class. The main thing I love about welding is the rush I get while the sparks and fire is flying in my face. Not to mention the smoke, but I can actually feel the electricity running through my body as the metal transfer to the plate. Another thing is when I weld and see that I've done a great job on my welds that make me even happier on the inside because I'm good at something I love to do.

The Best Advise I've Recieved

The best advise I've recieved was from my teacher in the eighth grade before I graduated. She told me how proud of me she was and she told me to keep up the good work because she saw great potential in me and that I was going to make it far in life. She encouraged me to stay doing good in school so I could go off to college one day. I know shes probably old now, but I still thank her for believeing in me. I just wish she could see me now and know how well I'm doing in college. I will never forget how much she inspired me. By the way her name was Ms. Somogyi, yeah that's it. My most favorite teacher of all times. She motivated all her students, but she also told me some teachers do have favorites and I was always one of hers. I remember on my B-Day awhile back she told me to come up to her desk so she could give me a kiss. Now I was about 13 or 14 so I didn't know what to think. I was blushing and was scared to go to her desk but she insisted. So I walked up to her desk slow as I possibly could with the entire class starring and laughing at me. When I finally made it up there she said happy birthday and gave me a hersheys kiss.We was laughing so hard, that was the best joke played on me even till this day. But Ms. Somogyi's the greatest, she is living proof that if you use the advise people give you, great things are and will happen.

The 1st Time I Got Lost

The first time I got lost was when I was twelve years old at Six Flags.I was having so much fun that I didn't even notice it. I was just getting off my favorite roller coaster," The Screaming Eagle"! After I walked down all the stairs to finally reach my mother, I was so shook up I didn't notice which way they went. So me being a grown up in my own mind I just went and got on another ride. I felt Like I was the man because my mom wasn't there to boss me around or embarass me. Then it started to get late and it started to get dark. I don't know if my stomach was hurting from the rides or me being hungry, but that's when it hit me.The park was so big and I was a little guy I searched for my mother for about an hour then I couldn't take it no more. I started crying because I was scared and I thought they left me behind. I never really been away from my mom that long before and I was so nervous that I was shaking. A lady seen me sitting on a bench and asked me what was wrong. The only thing I told her was that "I want my mom." Now me being so young mean I lacked responsibility to run off on my own , which is exactly what I did. But the lady worked at the park with one of my family members and noticed who I was. So she was kind enough to help me find my parents and after I finally did, it wasn't a pretty sight.
